About the Book

Samarpan is the author’s first published book in Bengali. She has crafted eight beautiful poems in memory of her late mother.

The poetries in the book are varied in that it relates to modern life and ancient wisdom. Each verse is short and lovely and captures the reader’s imagination of by gone eras.

Samarpan is a ‘dedication’ to the higher purpose.

About the Author

Swapna Das is an award-winning British Indian author. For more than three decades living in a foreign land, Swapna has maintained strong attachment to her country of birth – India. She lives in the UK with her family. The author is a local government employee, and also a prolific writer and a strong advocate of the performing and creative arts. Her writings have strong connection to India and its culture and values. Music is soul food for the author and this motivates her to experience different genres of music. Over the years, the author has engaged in philanthropic work to raise funds for charities in the UK and abroad. Amateur photography helps Swapna to capture the vivid colours and emotions through the lenses. Swapna has travelled widely all over the world and has a rich experience of other cultures.
As a creative endeavour, the author has also recently embarked on a different original journey under her banner Swapnabesh UK. The work will be showcased worldwide soon. Swapnabesh UK aspires to be a different platform in which India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage will be stimulated - Swapna is confident of achieving this goal.
Swapna’s tireless effort to craft beautiful stories and poems has resulted in the publication of five books- A String of Pearls (2016), The Forgotten People (2019). Shristi:Creation (2024), Arpan (2025) and Samarpan (2025). The first Bengali book Samarpan is the author’s first attempt in writing Bengali pomes in memory of her late mother. The author’s inspiration is derived from life, nature and human emotions. These are cascaded in all her books.
