About the Book

Ayurveda has always emphasized the preservation of mobility, strength, and structural integrity of the human body. The musculoskeletal system forms the foundation of physical activity, and its disorders can significantly impair daily life. Classical Ayurvedic literature contains extensive knowledge regarding the diagnosis and management of orthopedic diseases, yet much of this information remains scattered across various Samhitas and traditional commentaries.
During clinical practice, I realized the need for a practical handbook that could provide quick, evidence-informed, and clinically useful prescriptions for common orthopedic conditions. Most available textbooks discuss the theoretical aspects of diseases but provide limited guidance regarding prescription writing, dosage schedules, Panchakarma planning, rehabilitation, and long-term management.

Dr. Nisha Sharma is an accomplished Ayurvedic academician,
clinician, researcher, and author with extensive expertise in Swasthavritta, Yoga, Panchakarma, preventive medicine, lifestyle disorders, and integrative healthcare. She is currently serving as an Associate Professor at Dr. Sarvesh Kumar Shukla Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, where she actively contributes to undergraduate teaching, clinical practice, research supervision, and academic development. She completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Shri Dhanwantry Ayurvedic College, Chandigarh (2007–2013).

Dr. Ravinder is an Ayurvedic Medical Officer serving under the AYUSH Department, Government of Haryana, currently posted at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Kuleri, Hisar, Haryana. He completed his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from Ayujyoti Ayurvedic Medical College, Sirsa (Jodhpuria), affiliated with Pt. B.D.
