About The Book
Civic Organizations and Social Change by Mr. Neeraj Kumar, Mr. Priyank Rana, and Mr. Rahul Kohli explores the deep connection between society, governance, and the evolving role of civic participation in shaping modern communities. The book provides a comprehensive study of how civic organizations, non-governmental bodies, and social movements contribute to social transformation and empowerment.
Divided into ten insightful chapters, it covers themes such as modern social stratification, democracy, human rights, ethical governance, and the historical evolution of civic organizations. It delves into the theoretical frameworks of social change and highlights how civic organizations act as vital agents in promoting equality, justice, and inclusion. The authors skillfully connect traditional systems like Varnashrama Dharma with modern concepts of diversity and mobility, illustrating the progress from rigid hierarchies to more fluid social structures.
The book also examines the rise of NGOs, the influence of digital technology in civic engagement, and the global challenges faced by civil societies in ensuring human rights and sustainable development. Written in a clear and accessible style, it offers valuable insights for students, researchers, and readers interested in sociology, political science, and social work.
