About the Book
Critical Perspectives on Indu Sundaresan as a Feminist Historiographer: A Study of Power, Gender, and the Recovery of Silenced Voices in Indian History explores the ways in which Sundaresan reimagines history through a feminist lens. Engaging with the power dynamics, silences, and struggles that shape women’s experiences, this volume examines how her fiction restores the voices of those erased or marginalized by patriarchal historiography. Drawing on feminist theory, historiography, and postcolonial discourse, the book uncovers Sundaresan’s role as a storyteller who bridges history and imagination, reclaiming the “losers” of history and reshaping narratives of power, gender, and identity in Indian fiction.
