About the Book
Determinants of Indian Economic Growth During Pre and Post Reform Periods offers an in-depth exploration of the forces that have shaped India’s economic trajectory across two defining eras—before and after the landmark reforms of 1991. Combining rigorous empirical analysis with clear theoretical insight, the book examines how structural policies, investment patterns, productivity trends, trade openness, human capital, and financial sector development influenced India’s growth performance.
This work provides a comprehensive comparison of the pre-reform, state-regulated economy and the post-reform, market-oriented landscape, revealing how shifts in policy and global integration transformed the country’s development path. Accessible yet academically grounded, this book is an essential resource for students, researchers, policymakers, and anyone seeking to understand the dynamics behind India’s rise as a major economic power.
Insightful, analytical, and timely, it challenges conventional narratives and contributes meaningfully to the ongoing debate on India’s long-term growth prospects.
