About The Book

Swaraj's collection of 22 poems deal with a variety of subjects concerning the current social and individual issues: love, mysticism, concept of God and life itself.

As you go through these gems, at least a word or line will pierce through your heart. Here one is not reading the poems, one is being read by the poems. The reader is wandering through lines and getting lost within them... in divine peace.

About The Author

Swaraj Payyapilly Thankappan hails from Kundoor in Thrissur District in Kerala; a serene green village like Rupert Brooke's The Old Vicarage Grantchester.

"Victory is the loser's dream
Not the winner's celebration." This one line poem is enough to mark Swaraj's place in Malayalam poetry, says Dr. C.Ravunny, a prominent Malayalam poet. He has won two awards: the first one, Vyloppilly Award for his anthology "Hunter on The Banquet Table " in 2013 at age 31 and in 2024 Kavyashikha Pratibha Puraskar for his second collection "The Male Bird Who Hatches".

He is an engineer who works at Kerala Water Authority. He lives in Kundoor with his wife Simi and daughter Rima Parvathy.
