About The Book

The book Indian Ethical Values: Thought, Tradition and Modernity is an enterprise to explore the rich heritage of Indian ethical values, tracing their journey from ancient wisdom to contemporary challenges. It aims to show how principles such as dharma, truth, compassion, and non-violence have guided individuals and societies across centuries, and how they remain relevant in today’s fast-changing, globalized world. By bridging tradition and modernity, the book offers readers not only a deeper understanding of ethics from an Indian perspective but also practical insights for applying these values in personal life, professional conduct, and social engagement. The book seeks to explore the moral foundations that have shaped Indian civilization across centuries. Drawing from classical sources such as Vedas, Upanishads, and epics, as well as modern philosophical debates, the book aims to highlight how ethical values have been shaped, preserved, and redefined overtime.
