About The Book

Kundera is a cinematic blend of folk horror, mystery and suspense, set where the warmth of a small Indian town meets the unease of the forest surrounding it. Connected to the outside world by a single road, the town feels lively, intimate and reassuring by day. After dark, old legends, unspoken rules and inherited fears begin to reshape its familiar streets.

For decades, Kundera’s official population has remained exactly 1,200. Births, deaths and departures occur, yet the number never changes. Why? When Aviraj Kashyap returns home after years away and encounters something that defies ordinary explanation, the question becomes intensely personal. His search draws him towards Ruhani Devra, an intelligent and enigmatic folklore researcher, and back to three fiercely loyal friends whose warmth and distinctly Indian humour keep the story human even at its most unsettling.

Their investigation moves through contradictory records, half-remembered traditions, old songs and a forest legend the townspeople would rather leave unnamed. Every clue creates a fresh suspicion; every apparent answer makes Kundera’s comforting world feel less dependable.

Blending atmospheric horror, psychological tension, slow-burn romance, vivid characters and a layered mystery, Kundera offers more than a conventional supernatural tale. It explores memory, identity, silence and the price one generation may pay for secrets inherited from another. Both intimate and expansive, it opens the door to a world where laughter can conceal fear, folklore can preserve history, and every familiar face may be guarding an unspoken truth.
