About The Book
Mahi — The Pieces of Her Sky is an emotional and intimate journey of a girl who grew up inside a single-room home where silence was louder than words and trauma was inherited through everyday moments. From childhood marked by fear to teenage years shaped by manipulation and emotional blackmail, Mahi learns early that love can wound as deeply as it comforts.
College brings her a brief breath of freedom, and in that fragile window she meets Arjun — the only person who ever treated her with tenderness. In him she finds safety, peace, and a kind of love that feels like healing. But life, society, caste, fear, and parental pressures tear them apart before they can build the world they imagined. Mahi is pushed into a marriage that slowly shatters her spirit, and she walks through years of loneliness, suffocation, and emotional abandonment.
When everything collapses and she is finally forced to confront her own pain, Mahi chooses the bravest path — she leaves behind the life built for her and begins to rebuild the life she had always dreamed of. With Arjun’s quiet support from a distance, and her own growing courage, she discovers independence, passion, clarity, and strength.
What begins as a story of survival transforms into a story of self-discovery.
What begins as heartbreak ends as rebirth.
What begins with fear ends with freedom.
Mahi — The Pieces of Her Sky is about trauma, resilience, second chances, unfinished love, and the quiet miracle of choosing yourself. It is a reminder that no matter how broken the sky becomes, it can always be pieced together again — one sunrise at a time.
About The Author
Hemanth Kumar, who writes under the pen name Nani, is an engineer by training and a storyteller at heart. He completed his M.Tech in Computer Networks and works professionally as a software developer.
For years, he carried an unspoken desire to write—thoughts, emotions, and fragments of stories that lived quietly in his mind. After almost 3–4 years of waiting, he finally felt this was the right time to give shape to a story that had been growing inside him.
Mahi: The Pieces of Her Sky is his debut book, born from deep observation and emotional experiences gathered from the world around him. He has seen, listened, and understood the silent struggles many girls and women face. These truths—sometimes painful, sometimes beautiful—became the heart of this story.
Nani believes that girls will deeply connect with Mahi’s journey, and boys will learn, feel, and grow from it too. His hope is simple:
to touch lives, to make readers feel understood, and to remind them that no emotion is small or unworthy.
This first book is only the beginning.
Through fiction filled with raw emotion, Nani hopes to inspire, heal, and reach the hearts of many more readers.
