About The Book

Ancient Wisdom. Contemporary Science. Sustainable Futures.

At a time when the planet faces unprecedented ecological challenges, this book presents a compelling dialogue between Indian Knowledge Systems and Ecological Economics. Moving beyond conventional development models, it explores how centuries-old ecological wisdom can complement modern science to address climate change, biodiversity conservation, environmental governance, sustainable livelihoods, and responsible resource management. Through engaging narratives, classical insights, contemporary case studies, and interdisciplinary analysis, the authors reveal how sustainability is not merely an environmental goal but a way of thinking that connects nature, economy, culture, and society. This timely volume offers an inspiring roadmap for students, scholars, policymakers, educators, environmental professionals, and all readers seeking innovative and inclusive approaches to sustainable development. It is both an academic contribution and an invitation to reimagine humanity's relationship with the natural world because the future of ecological economics may well be rooted in the wisdom of the past.
