About the Book
After my first poetry collection Aks, I am grateful to present my second work. Aks captured my experiences as a woman, mother, and human being, and the readers’ love encouraged me to continue writing.
This book focuses on the transgender community — a group that has faced discrimination, exclusion, and a denial of basic rights for generations. Many transgender children lose their families due to societal fear, beginning life with separation and hardship.
Excluded from education, employment, and dignity, they are often forced to depend on traditional performances and blessings for livelihood. Their dreams and emotions remain unheard beneath rigid social beliefs.
The questions that inspired this book were simple: Don’t they deserve love, respect, and opportunity like everyone else? Can society change its mindset and truly include them?
Through this work, I hope readers understand their struggles and humanity with empathy.
My heartfelt thanks to my readers, family, and friends for their constant support and encouragement.
