About the Book
The City inside my mind” is first book under the “Secrets of the Brain” series. This is a children's science story with a wonderful idea, it tackles one of the most harmful myths children develop very early:
"Some people are born smart, and some are not."
“The City Inside My Mind” was created to inspire children to believe in their own capacity to learn. It reminds them that intelligence is not simply something we are born with—it is something we build, one question, one effort, and one new connection at a time.
Modern neuroscience tells a similar story. While brains differ in some innate characteristics, repeated use of neural circuits profoundly shape intelligence and memory throughout life.
The mind is versatile and when compared to the capacity of computers and AI, “A computer is a warehouse of information; a brain is a city that rebuilds itself every day” AI is learning from our mind so that robots can behave like humans.
In “The City Inside My Mind”, Rita invites young readers to discover that the brain is not a fixed bucket, but a living city that grows with curiosity, practice, and courage.
About the Author
Dr. Rita Singh is a scientist, teacher, and storyteller who believes that science becomes most powerful when children can imagine it, question it, and connect it with their own lives. Trained in the life sciences, she has spent many years exploring how living systems work—from tiny molecules and cells to the complex biology of the human body.
Her writing brings together neuroscience, zoology, learning, resilience, and curiosity. Through her stories, she hopes to help young readers understand that the brain is not a fixed container, but a living, changing “city” that grows stronger with attention, practice, rest, imagination, and courage.

Dr. Singh hopes this book encourages every child to keep learning, keep wondering, and keep growing.
